A New School Year. A New Website. The Same Mission.

A Message from Executive Director Gris Bailey

This past year has been one of the most meaningful seasons of my professional life.

When I stepped into the role of Executive Director at Leadership Mission International, I committed myself to listening before leading. I wanted to understand what makes this organization so special; the students whose lives are being transformed, the graduates who are creating change in their communities, the dedicated staff who serve faithfully every day, and the supporters like you who make this work possible.

Over the past year, I have had countless conversations, visited homes and communities, celebrated victories, and wrestled alongside our team through challenges. Through it all, I have been continually inspired by the resilience, courage, and potential of the young women we serve.

Those experiences have helped shape a clearer vision for LMI's next chapter.

Strengthening the Foundation

As we begin a new school year at The Leadership Center, we are focused on strengthening the foundation that makes lasting transformation possible. We have refined our Theory of Change, clarified our programs, and strengthened our staff structure to ensure that every student receives deeper support in the classroom, on campus, and throughout her leadership journey.

A Leadership Model Rooted in Service

At the heart of this work is a simple but powerful belief: leadership is not about position or title, it is about service. We are committed to developing ethical women leaders who lead with integrity, compassion, and a deep sense of responsibility to their families, communities, and country.

Every day, I witness students discovering their voice, building confidence, and embracing the belief that they can be agents of change. I see graduates launching businesses, pursuing higher education, serving their communities, and breaking cycles of poverty for future generations. All of this in service to strengthening the economic development of Honduras and I can't help but think: How can we make sure that other Latin American countries have this amazing opportunity?

Introducing LMI's New Website

Today, I am excited to share the first visible step in this new chapter: LMI's new website.

More than a refreshed design, this website tells the story of who LMI is today, how our programs work together to create lasting change, and how supporters like you can engage more deeply in our mission. It reflects the clarity we have gained over the past decade around leadership development, whole-person formation, community impact, and long-term growth.
