Join us in our mission to develop the next generation of ethical women leaders in Honduras!

Work with Us

Leadership Mission International is a small, faith-driven team doing serious work. We believe that when women lead, communities change — and we've watched that belief become reality in the lives of hundreds of Honduran women.

Our staff and volunteers are people who care deeply about individual development, about women's leadership, and about doing this work with integrity. If that's you, we'd love to get to know you.

Who we’re Looking For

We're a lean organization, which means everyone on our team wears multiple hats and takes real ownership of their work. We look for people who are:

  • Mission-aligned — You don't need to have worked in international development, but you do need to genuinely care about women's leadership formation and the communities we serve in Honduras.

  • Self-directed — We trust our team. We're not a heavily managed environment, and we do our best work with people who bring initiative.

  • Servant Leaders — We model servant leadership at all levels of the organization, representing ethical, humble leadership to our students and community.

  • Collaborative — We work closely with church partners, donors, volunteers, and staff in Honduras. Relationship matters here.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity — We're a growing nonprofit. Things shift. If you can hold the mission steady while the details evolve, you'll fit right in.

We have a small team working remotely in the US, with the rest of our staff located in Honduras. We regularly hire ESL, Community Development, and Entrepreneurship Teachers.

Fellowship Program

LMI’s Immersion Fellowship Program is designed to place passionate educators & practitioners in our classrooms for a year.

Fellows teach one or more core subject areas — English, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, or Community Development — while serving as full cohort mentors throughout the year. This means you're not just in the classroom; you're present in daily campus life, designing extracurricular programming suited to a remote residential setting, and modeling the servant leadership LMI's program is built on.

You'll work alongside an international team of staff and faculty, collaborate on curriculum, and bring consistency to a cohort of students who have relocated — often far from family — to invest two years in their own development and their communities' futures.

This is not a short-term placement. Fellows commit to the full academic year, July through June, living on campus in community-provided housing.

Fellowship recruitment begins every year in February. Interested? Contact us at jobs@leadershipmission.org to express interest in a fellowship.

“Working at LMI has changed how I think about leadership. By investing in young leaders, we are truly equipping communities to overcome challenges from within. That really excites me.”

“The greatest lesson at LMI is not found in books, but in the willingness of my students to help, support, and uplift one another every day inside and outside the classrooms Witnessing that spirit of kindness and service is what truly fulfills my heart as a teacher.”

“I’ve stayed at LMI because I want to see the seeds I’ve planted bear fruit. Change takes time, and I want to be around to be a part of it.”
